Driving tanks at Tanks A Lot
Every man should get a chance to drive a tank at least once. What a blast.
I had the chance to drive 4 different types of tanks and 1 transport.
We got to fire a homemade bazooka that shoots oranges. Yep, oranges in England. Who'd a thunk.
And, we also got a bit of history from
the instructors. The guys at Tanks A Lot were gracious hosts, funny, and very knowledgeable.
We drove the tanks around different courses that had ditches, long straight paths, and large
mud holes. Some of the tanks can get up to 60 miles per hour. At the end, I got to drive
a tank over a car and smash it! It doesn't get any better than that! Check it out.

Now, to the tanks boys!
This is the briefing area of Tanks A Lot. Under camoflauge canopy, we are briefed on how
to conduct ourselves on the battle ground. Testosterone levels are starting to rise.

This is used to transport the soldiers, (us), to the tank playground!
This is the first vehicle we trained on and gave the instructor an idea of how we would be able
to handle the big machines later on.

My friend Nick learning how to use the homemade bazooka orange launcher.
This thing could launch an orange over 300 yards! Almost as long as Tiger Woods.

A view from inside the transport.

Not a tank but it was the next step in training.
This was capable of firing nuclear missles.

That's me...full of testosterone.

That's me coming around the corner of the track. Look at that dust cloud.

What a man!

Yep, that's me again!

Going through the deep puddle of mud. What fun!

"Don't worry Joe, the gun isn't loaded!"

What a crew.

Getting ready to crush the car. Look at that barrel!
I'm down in front, in the driver seat with just my head sticking out.
The instructor is telling me to basically keep the tank straight, give it some speed,
and try to stop it on top of the car. Yeah!

The first in a sequence of 3 photos showing the crushing of the car. See the glass
shattering? What a great shot.

There it goes!

Gone!

Now I feel like a real man!

Yep, they even have a pink tank.

This is sitting in the entrance to the command post.
